Motability Adaptations

Driving adaptations help a disabled person to drive where it would otherwise not be possible and assist speed control, steering and signalling. They can vary from simple attachments, to replacing standard factory controls with a bespoke system designed for individual special needs and requirements. Driving adaptations include:

  • Hand controls
  • Electronic accelerators
  • Left foot accelerators
  • Pedal modifications
  • Steering aids
  • Remote control devices

Motability Stowage Adaptions are designed to lift a wheelchair into a car and can be an electric boot hoist or rooftop stowage system, both working with just the touch of a button.

A Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) is not the only option available for wheelchair users when they are looking at how they will access their Motability car. There are also a number of Motability Access Adaptions that can be mounted on a car that include:

  • Transfer plates
  • Electric person hoist
  • Swivel seats
